MCA Practice Initiation
Draft legal documents. MCA will draft the necessary corporate formation documents for the physician to be reviewed by a competent licensed attorney in the state in which their practice will be located.
Registrations with necessary agencies. MCA will obtain and prepare the required documents for the physician to obtain qualification and registration with appropriate third party payors.
Marketing. MCA will provide the initial marketing for the physician’s newly formed corporation to facilities within a limited geographic area in which the physician has chosen to begin his or her home care practice.
Practice Management
Billing & Collections. MCA will prepare and submit all billings performed by the physician’s practice. Additionally, MCA will pursue all outstanding accounts receivable which have not been paid within sixty (60) days from the initial submission of a claim. This includes calling all insurance carriers, insurance payors and patients to verify receipt of claim.
Electronic Medical Record System (“EMR”). MCA has purchased an EMR from MISYS Healthcare System, L.L.C. which has consistently ranked near the very top of EMR outpatient systems. In concert with MISYS, MCA has tailored its EMR to home care practices with specific focus given to the portability nature of such practices. At the physician’s election, MCA will set up the physician’s practice in the MCA EMR which will enable the physician to optimize his or her time and resources. This will allow the physician to access the EMR system within his or her own practice to become “paperless”, view their charts, sign documents, and review pertinent financial data concerning their practice in real time.
Accounting. MCA will perform daily accounting functions, which include the daily bookkeeping and financial analysis of the practice. Additionally, MCA will provide stock accounting reports that correspond to these functions. This service also includes the payment of accounts payable from the practices bank account as they become due. Lastly, this service includes a “lockbox” function in which MCA will deposit all paper checks into the practice’s bank account and post those payments into the practices management system. All EOB’s are scanned and made available to the practice electronically.

Payroll and Taxes. MCA will perform all payroll functions for each practice, consisting of the creation and distribution of payroll checks to practice employees. In the performance of this function, MCA will determine and track associated payroll liabilities including Medicare Withholding, Social Security Withholding, Federal Income Tax Withholding, State Income Tax Withholding, Federal Unemployment Tax and State Unemployment Tax. MCA will then pay each liability from the practice bank account when such liabilities become due. MCA will also provide and submit the necessary monthly and quarterly reports to their associated agencies on behalf of each practice.
Patient Scheduling, Orders Management. MCA will schedule each physician’s patient visits through its EMR in real time. Each physician will have complete control of their own schedule at all times. However, if a physician informs MCA of definite times that are available for the scheduling of patient visits in a certain geographic area, MCA will accomplish that for the physician. Once a new or existing patient calls the physician’s practice, MCA will review each physician’s schedule and arrange for a time for the physician to see that patient. Moreover, MCA will schedule all ancillary outpatient visits ordered by each physician for all of their patients.
Communications. MCA will provide all front office support for each physician practice. This includes fax server management and phone communication management to appropriately triage patient, pharmacy, and physician requests. Each communication will be documented in both a call log and the EMR. MCA will also digitize all paper documents to enable each physician to view and sign documents electronically within the EMR.
Credentialing Maintenance. MCA will obtain and complete the necessary applications for a physician to become credentialed with new insurance companies. MCA will also track and reapply for all registrations needed by the physician to practice medicine, including state licenses with the applicable Board of Healing Arts, Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, and current malpractice coverage.
Legal Support and Consultation. MCA will refer each physician to a competent attorney who is familiar with home care physician practices for the creation and management of appropriate corporate documents and other related matters.
Transcription Services. MCA will perform the transcription services for each physician practice. This service is utilized if a physician does not desire to create real time chart notes in the EMR. This service entails the physician dictating a patient visit into a digital voice recorder. The physician then e mails this voice file to MCA, from which, MCA will transcribe the voice file into a chart note format. MCA then imports the chart note into the EMR.
